Bendigo, Victoria. Bendigo Graphics today introduced the apparel designer, a new way to design shirts, hoodies, caps and totes on bendigographics.com. It is the first of the online tools we promised when we introduced the new Bendigo Graphics in July, and it keeps the part we care about most: a person in Bendigo checks your design before anything is made.
Whether it is uniforms for a new crew, shirts for a club committee or a first run of merch, you can now lay it out yourself, at any hour, and see exactly what you are ordering.
Start with a real garment
Every design starts with an AS Colour blank, the actual garment your artwork will go on. Choose the style and the colour first: a Classic tee for everyday wear, a Relax hood for the cooler months, a Stock cap for the crew on site, or a tote for the market stall.
Starting from the garment means the choices that matter most, fit, colour and fabric, are made before the design, not after it.
Place your artwork where it will actually print
Each garment carries its real print areas: left chest, full front, full back and more. Put a small logo on the left chest, a large graphic across the back, or both. You are working on the areas that can be printed, not guessing on a flat picture and hoping it fits.
Quick tip: a left chest logo and a full back print is the classic uniform combination. The front stays tidy for customers, and the back does the advertising when your team walks away.
See it on the garment
As you work, your design shows on the garment itself, so you can judge size, placement and colour against the fabric before you commit. A logo that looked right on a laptop screen can feel very different on a black hoodie, and now you find that out before ordering rather than after.
A person checks it before anything is made
When you finish, your design comes to our local team. We check the artwork and the placement, and you get a proof to look over. Nothing is made until it has been checked.
Full colour, even for small runs
Full colour prints are made with DTF transfers, which suit small runs. That makes a handful of shirts a sensible order rather than a favour, whether you are printing merchandise without ordering hundreds or working out how many shirts your team needs.
Why it matters
Online apparel sites let you design whenever you like, then leave you on your own when the logo is blurry or the print is the wrong size. Traditional shops give you a person to talk to but often want a big order first. Small businesses, schools and clubs across Central Victoria deserve both: good tools and a local team that checks the work.
