What to Print for School Events, Fundraisers and Open Days
School events always need more signage than anyone remembers to order. Here's the checklist so nothing gets missed the week before.
School events always need more signage than anyone remembers to order. Here's the practical checklist for fetes, fundraisers, open days, and everything in between.
The Essentials (Every Event)
Directional signs. Corflute boards with arrows pointing to the entrance, parking, toilets, first aid, and key activity areas. These are reusable year to year if you keep the messaging generic ("Parking →" rather than "2025 Fete Parking →").
Welcome banner. A vinyl banner on the front fence or entrance that tells people they're in the right place. Include the school name, the event name, and the date. This is the most visible piece of signage at the event - make it big.
Stall or activity labels. Each stall, classroom, or activity station needs a clear sign. Name of the stall, what's there, and pricing if relevant. Corflute or foamboard works well - visible, lightweight, and reusable.
Open Days Specifically
Pull-up banners for the main hall or reception area. These set the tone for the whole visit. School values, key programs, enrolment information - presented cleanly and professionally. Two or three pull-up banners create an instant display that folds into a carry bag at the end of the day.
Classroom door signs for open classrooms. Simple A4 or A3 signs identifying the room, the year level, and what visitors will see inside.
A printed map or program for visitors to carry. A single A4 sheet with a simple site map on one side and the day's schedule on the other. Useful, practical, and it goes home with parents as a reminder of the school.
Fundraisers
Price boards for each stall. Laminated A4 or A3 sheets are cheap and survive the day. Include item names and prices in a font large enough to read from a metre back in a queue.
A large "Thank You to Our Sponsors" sign if you have sponsor support. This can be a banner or a large corflute board at the entrance. Sponsors expect visibility - deliver it prominently.
Planning Tips
Order 4 to 6 weeks before the event. That gives time for design, proofing, and production without rush fees. For reusable signage, make a master list of what you have and what condition it's in before ordering replacements.
Invest in generic directional signs that work for every event. School-branded corflute arrows for parking, entrance, toilets, and first aid can be used for years.
Send us your event details and we'll put together a package that covers everything.
